Reaching Africa Through
The Written Word

Praises with Thanksgiving from Malawi: March 2026

Pastors Thanking CLA for the books.

Bungoma, Kenya Christian Library established through CLA

Kenya News: Evangelist Wilson Reported 2/24/2026

These were the joyful words rising from the training class as the books were being distributed.  The song filled the room as believers wondered aloud how God had remembered them through the donation of 175 copies of God’s Call to Holiness by Dr. Jim Lo, supplied through Christian Literature for Africa.
Testimonies for Attendees:
“It never occurred to me that an unknown organization somewhere in America could leave their own financial burdens and donate such a wonderful book to us poor Africans in Kenya. If God can speak to people there to think about us through His Word, I am going to emulate the same in my village. I must show kindness because Dr. Lo and CLA have shown kindness to me even though they don't know me. They have touched my heart beyond what I could imagine.”
“I was born in 1954 when the State of Emergency had been declared in Kenya. I grew up during painful times. I was injured by colonial soldiers when they brutally beat me. For many years I carried bitterness. I never imagined that there could be people from that part of the world who would love Africans enough to send free biblical books. God forgive me for the hatred I carried.”
“I am now 70 years old, but I have never received a free biblical book with such a message. I wish Dr. Lo and CLA were here in Kenya — I would have walked to their offices personally to thank them. God has given them a lasting burden to empower souls, not only in their Western countries but even Africans. What a blessing. God, receive all the glory.”
A neighboring church has opened its doors for a mission scheduled from 2/03/2026 at Kuhan Grounds, where we anticipate reaching approximately 500 new believers. These are individuals who have not known Jesus. Our team is moving door to door, fishing them out, sharing the gospel, and inviting them to the meetings. Since they are new to salvation, we intend to ground them using "Bible Studies for New Christians"  by Dr. Lo. This material will help establish them firmly in the Word of God from the very beginning.  We remain grateful beyond words for what CLA has already done. We shall appreciate the Lord for whatever He chooses to do.

CLA Library to be established by Charles in
Mabanga, Bungoma Kenya

Reported: 28 January 2026

Praise the Lord! The CLA Team and the Kenyan recipients thank all the donors and participants who helped provide the 40 ft container for the CLA Library.
There are 1000's of books that are now being unpacked and cataloged by the Kenyan team. This library will be  available for pastors, Bible school students, and Christian leaders. They will have access to further their knowledge and faith in Christ.
In the words of Charles, "
Churches in the surrounding area that witnessed the container being offloaded have already expressed strong interest in the library. There is a genuine hunger for this service...  Interestingly, the librarian I spoke with mentioned that this may be the first private Christian library in Kenya that is open to believers from all denominations. He explained that while a few Christian libraries exist, they are usually affiliated with specific churches and do not allow access to members from other congregations.
My prayer and commitment is to make this library the best of its kind in the country, to the glory of God and for the equipping of His people.

Charles has sent the following video as an introduction to the library ministry. The Kenya team is excited about the future. Please take a few moments and view the video.  Charles has financed the importation of the books which was a major financial undertaking. He is now in need to equip the library and praying for any donors to step up and share in this need. The following need is presented in the video:

The Library Need:

Tables and Seating: US$ 2,700.00
Computer Equipment/Filing: US$ 250.00

NIGERIA NEEDS MORE BIBLE FUNDING:
Hello Friend,
Please as we continue to reach more souls to Christ in Nigeria and meeting with our Muslim friends with the Gospel, some of them are being converted from Islamic religion to Christianity - PTL. Now they are in need of Bibles to study more by themselves about God, Jesus, the Holy Spirit and many other doctrines of the Bibles.
Most of these folks are living in the northern region of Nigeria - Kaduna State. At this present time, they are facing with rejection by their families and sect groups but we the Christian folds are comforting them in different ways and provide them with welfare needs.
They really need BIBLES to keep studying and to discover the truths of God's Word by themselves than being deceived by fault teachings and doctrines about God and who Jesus Christ is / is not.
Thank you.
Nsibiet Matthew
Pastor Nsibiet Nelson successfully received the funds sent from CLA under the leadership of Dr. Mike Shalley for the purchase of 125 vernacular Bibles in Nigeria. Nsibiet was able to buy the Bibles and has taken pictures as seen above. Thanks to the sponsors and supporters of these Bibles. The eternal impacts of these Bibles - the living Word of God cannot be overemphasized. Thank you for your generous support for our ministries in Nigeria.
Thanks from Nigeria for the Vernacular Bibles

Partnering in Prayer

In Exodus 17:8-16, one finds the account of the battle between the Amalekites and Israelites.  We read, as long as Moses held his hands up, the Israelites were winning, when his hands were lowered, the Amalekites were winning.  When Moses grew tired, Aaron and Hur held his hands up. The Israelites were victorious with the support team.   Moses built an altar and said, “…For a hand was lifted up to the throne of the Lord.”
The task for CLA continues to broaden as more and more requests are filed with the office. That which was started 26 years ago, has ministered through gifts and donations from scores of people over the years that have lifted up “our (CLA) hands”.  The bottom line in accomplishing anything for God is because of “hands lifted up to the throne of the Lord.”
After a meeting with a supporter, I began reviewing the need for prayer warriors to commit themselves to holding CLA up, as Aaron and Hur helped Moses.
I would like to start a CLA prayer network of “lifted hands” to help us fight the battle in equipping Africa leaders. The heart of anything that is accomplished in and for the kingdom requires prayer. I am looking for a support team who will commit themselves to praying for the ministry of CLA to make a greater impact.
We have many challenges before us.  There are requests from  10 countries impacting 19 groups.  Some of these countries require a great deal of logistical planning to import CLA resources.  We and the Africans seek your support through prayer.
Here are three things prayer does:
  1. Prayer Unites – Acts 1:14, “These all with one accord were continually devoting themselves to prayer.”  We become one in Christ.
  2. Prayer Clarifies- Matthew 26:4, “Watch and pray so that you will not fall into temptation.”  It keeps one focused on the mission to be witnesses of Jesus Christ.
  3. Prayer Benefits – James 5:16,  “The prayer of a righteous man avails much.”  It brings answers to oneself and others.
We know many of you have prayed and continue to pray for the ministry, for that we are grateful. If more join in, I know more will be accomplished.  Any victory takes a support team, each person doing what they can to bring forth the victory.
It takes warriors like Aaron and Hur to support others who physically battle to bring the victory.  If you have or are willing to be part of the prayer team, please fill out the form on this page.
